Nonprofit Leaders

Changing the World Together.

Second Line is an 8-week virtual cohort designed for nonprofit leaders looking to strengthen their skills, solve current problems, and gain efficiency with others who are in the thick of it.

The program features weekly topic-based sessions, guest speakers, peer circles, 1:1 chats with other members, and problem specific add-on events.

Fall Cohort:
Oct 2 - Nov 20

The Second Line Fall Cohort is accepting applications until September 23rd.

  • The program is typically best for second in command leaders (sorry CEOs & founders). You might be the COO of a 15 person org or the Director/VP of a specific department for a larger org. Peer groups are hand selected to pair you with other organizations where you can share and get the most value.

  • The 8-week cohort is $2800 and includes:

A 1:1 cohort onboarding to ensure maximum results & focus on your key needs

    4 Topic Based Live Sessions

    4 Peer Group Sessions

    2 1:1 member chats

Opt-in member director & additional resources for nonprofit leaders

    Guest speakers

  • The program is built for each cohort. This means, weekly topics and guest speakers are not determined until participants have completed their onboarding. This ensures content is tailored to this cohorts unique needs and current obstacles.

All live sessions are scheduled between 9am and 2pm PT. Recordings are sent out after. That said, we suggest missing no more than one live session as active participation is key in getting the most out of the program.

  • The success of groups lies in how its members are selected.

    • Fill out an application

    • You will receive a status update (approved, denied, or waitlisted) within 72 hours.

    • If approved, 20-minute interview for admission.

Second Line is where growing nonprofit leaders come together to find clarity, opportunity, and growth amidst the chaos of building teams to changing the world.

  • Members are typically VPs or Directors at growing nonprofits, with roles broad enough to contribute to and learn from peers across different functions. Occasionally, hands-on executives participate, but generally, the program is designed for second-in-command leaders.

Second Line members usually come from organizations with 20+ team members and are encountering new challenges as they scale. Members must be humble, eager to learn, and willing to share their own insights with the group.

  • All events are virtual.

  • Drop us your question here!

  • In some cases, yes. If your organization is large enough where the problems and perspective you can bring to Second Line will be unique, then it might be a good idea to have more than one person.

Outside of having someone else join, we will have "guest passes" for certain events and many sessions will be available to share internally.
